Andries van der merwe

We are very excited to have Andries heading our kitchen team, and share his delicious, mouth-watering dishes with everyone in Stellenbosch and surrounding areas. Driven to excel in his field, he is brilliant at what he does!

 

Innovating with a menu characterised by fresh, locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal food.

 

Van Der Merwe studied at The Institute of Culinary Arts (ICA) in Stellenbosch, and served as a Student Chef at Bistro 13 under Chef Nic van Wyk. He brings expertise acquired as a Chef at Tokara, under Head Chef Richard Carstens and Carolize Coetzee, showcasing stunning plating that characterises Hygge Hygge’s awesome foodie flair.
